We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Young People Support Worker to join our team at Depaul UK. As a key member of our Youth Hub team, you will play a vital role in delivering our innovative pan-London accommodation service for young people aged 16-25 who have slept rough or are at risk of doing so.
Your primary responsibility will be to work with a caseload of clients, providing one-to-one and group support opportunities to increase their resilience and independence. You will also contribute to the safety and well-being of all clients, volunteers, and staff in the service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.
- Carrying a caseload of clients and taking joint responsibility with team members for their well-being and day-to-day support.
- Leading on risk and needs assessments and support planning for clients, and contributing to ongoing needs assessments of other clients in the service.
- Delivering one-to-one and group support opportunities within accommodation and the local community to increase client resilience.
About You
We are looking for an experienced support worker with a passion for working with young people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, and substance use. You will need to have a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures, as well as experience in managing a service in a support setting.
Key skills and experience include:
- Experience working with the client group.
- An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, and substance use.
- A knowledge and understanding of risk assessments and support planning.
- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
