Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and patient teaching assistant to support a Year 2 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school in Tower Hamlets. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support, assist with curriculum access, and implement the child's IEP.

About the Role:
  • Provide one-to-one support to a Year 2 child with autism, assisting them in navigating the school day.
  • Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and managing routines, using strategies to support their communication, social skills, and emotional development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement the child's IEP.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that fosters the child's independence and confidence.

Requirements:
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid and up-to-date DBS check.

The estimated salary for this role is £27,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on experience.
