Steel Estimator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Steel Estimator to join our team at Express Recruitment. As a Steel Estimator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical tender drawings, pricing materials, and liaising with team members to produce competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical tender drawings to estimate material costs
  • Price materials from drawings and create comprehensive take-off and tender submissions
  • Liaise with team members to produce competitive bids and identify business opportunities
  • Exercise knowledge of industry market pricing to build a system of market pricing
  • Follow up on submissions and client feedback to ensure successful outcomes

Requirements:

  • Considerable experience working as an Estimator in a manufacturing setting
  • Able to read technical drawings and schematics
  • Understanding of structural steelwork and financial acumen
  • Solid communication skills and experience negotiating with suppliers and contractors
  • Full UK Driving Licence
