Responsibilities:
  • Assist in performing quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Develop skills in risk assessment to identify potential uncertainties in estimating steel costs and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Collaborate with experienced estimators to prepare bids and proposals for construction projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Support the documentation and reporting process, maintaining accurate records of estimates and project details.
  • Shadow and assist senior estimators in client meetings, enhancing communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Continuously learn about steel fabrication processes, installation techniques, and industry best practices to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Provide support in cost control activities, assisting in monitoring project costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.
Qualifications:
  • A strong interest in the construction industry, specifically in steel estimation, and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.
  • Basic knowledge of construction drawings and specifications, with a focus on steel estimation.
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications, with a focus on estimation and project management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and with clients.
