Steel Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Steel Estimator to join our team at Recra Consulting. As a Steel Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed estimates for structural steel projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Analyse plans, sections, and details to accurately measure and quantify structural steel components.
  • Estimate the cost of structural steel based on current market prices, material costs, and labor rates.
  • Prepare a comprehensive breakdown of costs, including materials, fabrication, installation, and transportation.
  • Liaise with clients throughout the estimation process, addressing concerns and clarifying requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through accurate and timely estimates.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and construction codes and regulations.
  • Enhance knowledge of steel fabrication processes, installation techniques, and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Experienced estimator within the structural steel, fabrication industry.
  • Great eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to build strong relationships with clients and customers.
  • Aware of steel fabrication processes and installations.
Working Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 8am to 5pm.
  • Friday: 8am to 4pm.
