Job Description:

At Leonardo, we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager within our Servicing and Support line of business (CS3) based in Edinburgh.

The servicing and support line of business (CS3) is uniquely positioned to service our world-leading radars, lasers, and infra-red countermeasure systems.

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will interact at Programme and Integrated Project Team (IPT) level, working in partnership with the Programme and Project Managers to:

  • Identify specific programme and project risks, threats, and opportunities to manage.
  • Agree the Project Assurance Plans (PAP) defining project assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity, and Improvement within the Programme and associated operating frameworks.
  • Manage programme and project risks, threats, and opportunities to reduce impact on Programme and Project.
  • Provide leadership to the Assurance Teams to meet Programme and IPT objectives.
  • Lead the Assurance function's improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product, and Project Lifecycle.
  • Mentor and coach to grow Quality excellence within the Programme.
  • Successfully apply interpersonal skills to positively influence behaviours within Quality at individual and team levels.
  • Represent the Quality function at a senior level with Programme Customers.
  • Achieve project assurance milestones within the Programme, Product, and Project lifecycle.
  • Deliver reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project, and function as required.
  • Reduce Sector Non-Conformance costs and implement a root cause and corrective action culture to reduce the cost implications on the programmes and project.
Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree [or equivalent] in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly complex industries.
  • Demonstrate Governance and knowledge within the areas of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, and First Article Inspection.
  • Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that support business goals, in the language of the business.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  • Demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
  • Demonstrate experience of developing a team, mentoring, and coaching.
