Quality Assurance Manager

At Leonardo, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Team Lead to join our Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business in Edinburgh. As a global high-tech company, we are one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security, with over 45,000 employees worldwide.
The successful candidate will interact at Programme and Integrated Project Team (IPT) level, working in partnership with Programme and Project Managers to identify and manage specific programme and project risks, threats and opportunities. Key responsibilities will include:
- Agreeing Project Assurance Plans (PAP) defining project assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity and Improvement within the Programme and associated Pro-operating in line with the requirements of the Operational Framework
- Successful management of Programme and Project Risks, Threats and Opportunities to reduce impact on Programme and Project
- Leading Assurance Teams to meet Programme and IPT objectives
- Leading Assurance function improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product and Project Lifecycle
- Mentoring and coaching to grow Quality excellence within the Programme
- Representing the Quality function at a senior level with Programme Customers and Suppliers
- Achieving project assurance milestones within the Programme, Product and Project lifecycle
- Delivering reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project and function as required
- Reducing Sector Non-Conformance costs and implementing a root cause and corrective action culture to reduce the cost implications on the programmes and project
Key skills and qualifications required include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly complex industry
- Demonstrated Governance, AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement
- Demonstrated knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification and First Article Inspection
- Logical thinking and ability to harvest complex data into actions with practical solutions that support business goals
- Good interpersonal skills and collaborative working style across all functions of the business
- Experience in working with Customers and Suppliers
- Demonstrated experience of developing a team, mentoring and coaching
