Job Title: Civil Engineer - Road Construction
Estimated Salary: £40,000 per annum
Job Description
This role involves the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure, including highways, cycleways, and footways. The successful candidate will have experience in civil engineering works, operating heavy machinery, and working on highways.
Main Responsibilities
- Construction, including widening and repairing roads, cycleways, and footways
- Installation and repair of kerbs, edgings, block, and flagged paving
- Repairing potholes and cracks in surfacing
- Maintaining roadside verges
- Excavating and reinstating trenches for duct and drainage installation
- Working on inspection chambers, road gullies, drainage, and ducted systems
Requirements
- Previous experience in civil engineering works, operating heavy machinery, and working on highways
- Full understanding of utility drawings and safety protocols
- HGV Class 2 driver's license and NPORS or City and Guilds qualifications in gritter and snowplough for winter maintenance operations
- Willingness to work out of normal hours as part of a rota system
- CSCS card
