About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Safeguarding to join our team at Samaritans. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and expert advice on safeguarding adults and children at risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of our safeguarding strategy and policies
  • Provide expert safeguarding advice and guidance to staff and volunteers
  • Chair serious safeguarding incident panels and manage complex cases
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external safeguarding bodies and stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver safeguarding training and education programs
Requirements
  • Up-to-date Designated Safeguarding Lead training and safeguarding experience
  • Qualified and registered Social Worker with significant safeguarding experience
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, best practice guidance, policy, and procedure
  • Extensive leadership experience, including managing high-performing teams and chairing serious case reviews
