Job Title: Customs Clearance Specialist

Job Summary:

Noble Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled Customs Clearance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for arranging import clearances for our clients, processing customs clearances accurately and compliantly within HMRC's guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process import clearances for key clients, ensuring a high level of service and compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors to obtain and provide required information for customs clearances.
  • Provide guidance to customers on importing goods into the UK, including commodity codes, customs procedure guidance, and general requirements for importing products into the UK market.
  • Work with our AEO accredited Freight Forwarder to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Raise invoices, including duty/VAT invoices, and provide manual calculations of taxes to customers as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of at least two years working for a small to medium-sized freight forwarder.
  • Previous experience with processing and completing entries using CDS, including deep sea ocean freight clearances or European road freight clearances.
  • Confidence navigating HMRC's online tariffs and a good understanding of customs commodity codes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of FTA, origin, and preference.
  • Experience with using CNS and Destin8, with knowledge of CCS-UK software.
  • Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a friendly personality.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong and dynamic team player with excellent maths and English skills.
