Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes, guidelines, and instructions, maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Execute culinary techniques specific to the assigned section, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Assist in the setup and organization of the assigned section before service, ensuring all necessary ingredients, equipment, and tools are available and in proper working order.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
- Monitor and maintain the quality and consistency of dishes throughout the cooking process, reporting any issues to senior chefs.
- Assist in the management of ingredient inventory for the assigned section, ensuring proper stock rotation, storage, and labeling.
- Work closely with the culinary team, effectively communicating and collaborating to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for new dishes, improvements, or adaptations for the assigned section, collaborating with senior chefs in menu planning and development.
- Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in the assigned section.
- Develop and complete training courses available, encouraging others to do the same.
- Take responsibility and ownership of their section, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Set examples to less experienced team members, demonstrating a positive attitude and work ethic.
- Complete tasks efficiently, assisting others as needed, and following instructions from senior chefs.
- Improve culinary skills and knowledge continuously, staying updated on industry trends, techniques, and new ingredients.
- Cook confidently and present food to guests well, explaining dishes clearly and professionally.
- Seek guidance from senior chefs and actively participate in training programs and workshops.
- Present a professional appearance at all times, adhering to company dress code and personal hygiene standards.
- Culinary qualification or experience in a professional kitchen.
- Food hygiene qualification is essential.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment, particularly in the pastry section.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards and the ability to follow them strictly.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the demands of the restaurant.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods, lift heavy pots and pans, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to act as a First Aid Aider or Fire Warden in the event of an accident or emergency.
- Competitive salary: £32,500.
- Gratuities: £190 - £230 per month.
