We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support the learning and development of children with autism in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with lead teachers to deliver individualized instruction, support students in developing communication and life skills, and maintain a calm and organized classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in delivering tailored lesson plans and IEPs, supporting students in achieving their academic and social goals.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students in developing communication, social, and life skills.
  • Help manage the classroom environment, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all students.
  • Support students during transitions, such as between activities and mealtimes.
  • Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques to support students in meeting their goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to monitor and assess student progress.
  • Support students with personal care needs, as required.
  • Foster a trusting and encouraging relationship with students, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Maintain accurate records of student activities and progress, sharing with the teaching team as needed.
