We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support the learning and well-being of children with autism in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to children with autism, following tailored lesson plans and IEPs.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, and life skills through structured activities and one-on-one guidance.
  • Help manage the classroom environment by ensuring a calm, organized, and safe space for all students.
  • Provide students with support during transitions, such as between activities, mealtimes, and breaks.
  • Use positive reinforcement and other behaviour management techniques to assist students in meeting their behavioural and academic goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to monitor and assess student progress.
  • Support students with personal care needs, such as feeding or hygiene, as required.
  • Foster a trusting and encouraging relationship with students, building confidence and promoting independence.
  • Maintain accurate records of student activities, progress, and any incidents, sharing these with the teaching team as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions to stay informed about best practices in autism support.
