Social Value Manager

Salary: We offer a highly competitive salary with an estimated range of £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Social Value Manager to lead our efforts in driving positive social change across our portfolio of work. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive social value strategy that aligns with our client's objectives and enhances positive social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the development of a robust social value strategy, aligned with client objectives and industry standards.
  2. Manage the social value input into PQQ and tender questions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  3. Chair the Transportation Social Value Forum, fostering collaboration and driving change among stakeholders.
  4. Represent the business unit on group, client, and RSSB forums, contributing to industry-wide initiatives.
  5. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with education establishments, industry bodies, and community organizations.
  6. Establish and implement metrics and evaluation methods to measure social impact and report on outcomes.
  7. Analyze data to identify trends and patterns, informing decision-making and improving social value performance.
  8. Promote Vocational, Community & Social Enterprises (VCSEs) to develop responsible business practices.
  9. Maintain the Giving Back Calendar and encourage employee volunteerism.
  10. Complete regional needs assessments, ensuring alignment with local master plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A degree in Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Communications, or a related field.
  • Membership with a relevant institute committed to social sustainability.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with 3-5 years' experience and a track record of successful social value initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrable background and specific experience in developing social value strategies and monitoring performance.
