Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated KS2 Teacher to join our team at a Lambeth-based Special Educational Needs school. The successful candidate will have experience working with students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The role involves creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, developing individualized learning plans, and promoting engagement, independence, social skills, literacy, and numeracy skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Personalized Education Programs: Develop and implement tailored educational programs that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with therapists and educational psychologists to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  3. Classroom Atmosphere: Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages students to thrive.
  4. Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  5. Parent Engagement: Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
  6. Team Leadership: Collaborate with and lead a support team within the classroom to ensure seamless support for students.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status: Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualifications.
  • SLD/ASD Expertise: Demonstrate strong knowledge of SLD or working with young pupils with a diagnosis of ASD.
  • Special Needs Experience: Preferably, have experience working in a special needs education setting.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
