We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a UK Parliamentary Engagement Specialist. This role plays a crucial part in delivering effective and innovative political engagement across the UK Parliament, aiming to build a broad network of engaged advocates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting policy briefings and articles for internal and external publication, contributing to parliamentary inquiries, and working closely with the office of the Chief Executive and Chair to deliver their own engagement with key political figures.
  • Supporting colleagues in the UK and overseas to engage with high-level political stakeholders effectively and appropriately, while maintaining robust systems and processes for stakeholder management.
  • Delivering a comprehensive parliamentary and political engagement strategy ahead of an anticipated General Election and an upcoming Spending Review, projecting the British Council's work and value into the UK's vibrant network of think tanks and research institutes.

The successful candidate will have first-hand experience of working in and/or with a political, policymaking, and/or government environment, educated to degree level or equivalent experience, and a strong ability to network and team-work across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to shaping a better world through international education, cultural relations, and arts. The estimated salary for this position is £43,000 - £53,000 per annum, depending on experience.
