Speech and Communication Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech and Communication Support Worker to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our SEN support team, you will play a vital role in supporting the communication and language development of our primary-aged pupils with a range of learning differences.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to pupils with speech, language, and communication difficulties, working closely with teachers and speech and language therapists to develop effective communication strategies.
- Assist with speech therapy programs and implement communication plans as outlined in students' individual plans, promoting early literacy and language development.
- Support the implementation of phonics programs to aid language development and early literacy, encouraging pupils to use alternative communication methods where necessary.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching and therapeutic team, and fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and positive environment for all students.
- Experience working with children, particularly in an SEN setting, with strong communication skills and the ability to support speech and language development.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage effectively with young children, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and specialists.
- Adaptability and creativity in responding to individual pupil needs, with relevant qualifications in child development, speech and language support, or SEN.
