About Teaching Personnel:

We are a forward-thinking Special Educational Needs (SEN) school dedicated to providing tailored support to primary-aged pupils with a range of learning differences. Our goal is to nurture students' communication and language skills, ensuring that every child can express themselves confidently and thrive in both academic and social settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to pupils with speech, language, and communication difficulties.
  • Assist with speech therapy programs and implement communication strategies as outlined in students' individual plans.
  • Work closely with teachers and speech and language therapists to support pupils' learning and development.
  • Help pupils develop effective communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, and social communication.
  • Support the implementation of phonics programs to aid language development and early literacy.
  • Encourage pupils to use alternative communication methods (e.g., Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and positive environment for all students.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, particularly in an SEN setting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support speech and language development.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage effectively with young children.
  • Adaptability and creativity in responding to individual pupil needs.
  • Experience working with speech and language therapists.
  • Understanding of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods.
  • Relevant qualifications in child development, speech and language support, or SEN.
