About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Policy Officer to join our team on a fixed-term basis until December 2025. The successful candidate will work closely with the Government Outcome Lab (GO Lab) and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) to develop and implement an innovative research agenda.

Main Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for managing multiple projects, collaborating with practitioners and researchers, and analysing data to present project results for various audiences.
  • Under the guidance of the GO Lab Economist and CIPFA Chief Economist, you will contribute to building capacity in the co-design and co-production of practical tools and insights that can improve public policy outcomes across a range of themes.
Essential Requirements
  • A Master's degree, or significant experience in policy making, is essential.
  • You should possess adequate specialist knowledge in the relevant fields to collaborate with established partners.
  • Direct experience working with policymakers or conducting applied research is also necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work with a diverse team and utilise clear, concise writing to simplify complex issues for non-experts, are vital.

  • An estimated salary of £48,000-£62,000 per annum.
