About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Equine Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and researching in the field of equine health, performance, and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver inclusive teaching on equine science related modules, assessing students and providing feedback on both academic and practical skills.
  • Engage with scholarly activity, applying it to teaching, supervising student research projects, and other opportunities for knowledge generation, exchange, and transfer.
  • Teach, research, and knowledge exchange activities will make use of our extensive equine facilities, which include the Equine Therapy Centre, Rider Performance Centre, championship arenas, and the equine yard.
Requirements
  • A strong background in equine health, performance, and rehabilitation, utilising relevant scientific principles to underpin the highest equine welfare, performance, and management.
  • A passion for educating, influencing, and enabling the next generation of equestrian enthusiasts to add value to the equestrian industry, nationally and globally.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team working skills, along with the ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines.
  • A postgraduate qualification, ideally doctorate level, in the field of Equine or related subject areas. A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one is also required.
