Geriatrician Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Geriatrician to join our Elderly Medicine department at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient services to our elderly population.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional patient care. You will be expected to lead and motivate our multidisciplinary team, creating and maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues, management, and external agencies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient services to our elderly population
- Leading and motivating the multidisciplinary team within the ward area
- Creating and maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues, management, and external agencies
- Engaging fully in the development of services to meet the anticipated future challenges of the ageing population
- Leading on and driving forward innovations within the service area

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR being issued) in geriatric medicine
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register in geriatric medicine or eligibility for specialist registration in geriatric Medicine within 6 months from the time of the interview
- MRCP
- Valid ALS or equivalent
