About the Role

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our Elderly Medicine department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to elderly patients, coordinating and delivering person-centred services that meet their complex needs.
  • Lead and motivate the multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective patient-focused interventions and timely discharge planning.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, management, and external agencies, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Engage in the development of services to meet the challenges of an ageing population, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Support consultant colleagues in the delivery of their services, contributing to the success of the department.

Requirements
  • Training and experience equivalent to UK CCT in Geriatric Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR being issued).
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register in Geriatric Medicine or eligibility for specialist registration within 6 months.
  • MRCP qualification.
  • Valid ALS or equivalent.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine, UK Acute Medicine, and Ambulatory Care, with evidence of personal practice in all areas described by the RCP curriculum.
