About the Role

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our Elderly Medicine department. As a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to patients with complex geriatric needs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Lead and motivate the geriatric team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement innovative services to meet the needs of our ageing population, working closely with external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of our frailty unit and multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to our frail, older population.
  • Engage in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of care and patient safety.

Requirements
  • Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR being issued) in geriatric medicine.
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register in geriatric medicine or eligibility for specialist registration in geriatric Medicine within 6 months from the time of the interview.
  • MRCP qualification.
  • Valid ALS or equivalent.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine and UK Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Care in UK.
