About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Service Manager to join our team at Cafcass. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our service and ensuring that we deliver high-quality support to children and families.

As Assistant Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of Family Court Advisers and providing guidance and support to help them deliver excellent outcomes for children and families. You will work closely with our senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies to improve our service and ensure that we are meeting the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Family Court Advisers, providing guidance and support to help them deliver excellent outcomes for children and families.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve our service and ensure that we are meeting the needs of our clients.
  • Work closely with our senior leadership team to shape the direction of our service.
  • Provide high-quality reflective case supervision to Family Court Advisers, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver excellent outcomes for children and families.
  • Ensure that our service is delivering high-quality support to children and families, and that we are meeting our performance targets.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Significant experience of managing a team of social workers, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and the Family Procedure Rules 2010.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
