Learning Support Assistant Progressions

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our Progressions team at Heart of Worcestershire College. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality learning support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, enabling them to engage and achieve their goals.
- Support the delivery of specialist foundation programmes, including those for students with autistic spectrum conditions, mental health difficulties, and learning difficulties.
- Ensure students with support needs are fully engaged with Learner Services and reinforce College attendance policies.
- Support a flexible caseload of individual and/or groups of supported learners with specialist needs.
- Assist in pre-entry activities, such as recruitment, enrolment, and assessment of support needs.
- Liaise with curriculum staff, LSDO TAVs, PLCs, and other lead delivery staff to ensure support can be targeted and managed within the learning session.
- Contribute to the negotiation, monitoring, and support of individual learning objectives.
- Enable learning support procedures to be carried out in line with best practice guidelines, including Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality and Diversity, and Health and Safety.
- Level 2 qualification in both Maths and English, or a willingness to gain.
- Experience in providing support in a classroom and one-to-one setting.
- Experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults.
- Experience gained in support services, especially for young people (e.g., education, Social Services, mental health services, the NHS).
