About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Heart of Worcestershire College. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties, ensuring they have the best possible chance of success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality learning support to students with learning difficulties, enabling them to engage and achieve their goals.
  • Support the delivery of Functional Skills, GCSE, and Vocational classes for students in need of additional support.
  • Ensure learners with support needs are fully engaged and reinforce College attendance policies.
  • Support students requiring personal physical care, including meeting their toileting and other personal hygiene needs.
  • Assist in pre-entry activities, such as recruitment, enrolment, and assessment of support needs.
  • Liaise with tutors, lecturers, and other lead delivery staff to ensure support can be targeted and managed within the learning session.
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation, and measurement of the impact of one-to-one and group work carried out to evaluate its effectiveness and work towards continual improvement of the service.
  • Maintain accurate records of all information and interventions, ensuring all administration is completed promptly and efficiently within agreed timescales.
  • Contribute to the negotiation, monitoring, and support of individual learning objectives.
  • Enable learning support procedures to be carried out in line with best practice guidelines with regard to safeguarding, and equality and diversity.
