Job Description

Mental Health Assistant Opportunity in Windsor

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Mental Health Assistant to join our team at a specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs based in Windsor. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with complex needs and a desire to build their experience working alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring psychologist, therapeutic support worker, or SEN teacher to gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will provide consistent, ongoing support to students aged 8-18, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and child-centred support. You will work closely with our experienced team to develop individualised plans and implement strategies to promote academic learning, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm, empathy, and resilience when working with students with complex needs
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desirable: Experience in a similar role or graduate qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. Psychology, Counselling, Criminology)

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of £80-£95 per day, plus the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from our experienced therapists and psychologists. Our school employs a therapeutic approach, providing regular training and mentorship to ensure your success in this role.
