Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Composite Design Engineer to join our team of experts in Vehicle Design. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-performance designs that meet the needs of our racing cars.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Principal / Senior Engineers and Program Managers to define deliverables and project scope, ensuring all requirements are met.
Proactively address faults, manufacturing queries / feedback, NCR's and other related departmental tasks.
Take ownership of key aspects of the Vehicle Design Vision, Goals and Strategy to create a best-in-industry high-performance design team.
Contribute to Research and Development projects within the department.
Be the Technical authority for their project when the Principal / Senior Engineers are not present.
Deputise for Senior Engineers; if requested and reporting back to peers and project groups (Faults, Design Reviews etc.).
Develop and maintain advanced and reliable design solutions with supporting calculations and unambiguous engineering drawings.
Requirements
Self-motivated, innovative and capable of working generally unsupervised to challenging deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to support the wider organisation - Manufacturing, Quality, Prototype and Test, Trackside etc.
Degree-level qualified in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or other related engineering discipline.
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
Proactive approach to problem-solving, along with good attention to detail.
Good CAD skills, ideally with experience of NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.
Passion for engineering, innovation and detailed design work.
