Design Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Composite Design Engineer to join our team at Williams. As a key member of our Vehicle Design department, you will be responsible for delivering advanced, performant, and reliable designs to agreed timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Principal / Senior Engineers and Program Managers to define deliverables and project scope.
- Proactively address faults, manufacturing queries / feedback, NCR's, and other related departmental tasks.
- Take ownership of key aspects of the Vehicle Design Vision, Goals, and Strategy.
- Contribute to Research and Development projects within the department.
- Be the Technical authority for your project when Principal / Senior Engineers are not present.
- Deputise for Senior Engineers; if requested and reporting back to peers and project groups.
- Track record and demonstration of advanced and reliable design solutions with supporting calculations and unambiguous engineering drawings.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working generally unsupervised to challenging deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with other engineers, both written and verbal, and support the wider organisation.
- Degree level qualified in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, or other related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, along with good attention to detail.
- Good CAD skills, ideally with experience of NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.
- Passion for engineering, innovation, and detailed design work.
