About the Role
We're seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Head of Operational and Corporate Assurance. In this role, you'll lead the development and management of a risk-based assurance programme, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mandated controls.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in assurance, risk management, and governance, with experience in integrating operational assurance activity across multiple delivery functions in the rail, transport, construction, or infrastructure sectors. You'll also have excellent leadership skills, strategic thinking, and strong communication abilities.

You'll work closely with the business to implement functional and/or programme assurance frameworks in major programmes, with multiple stakeholders. This will involve engaging with senior colleagues, stakeholders, and Government on sensitive issues, while managing multiple activities simultaneously and prioritising critical tasks to agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Led the development and management of a risk-based assurance programme
  • Coordinated related LOD2 assurance delivery and supported the planning of the Integrated Assurance and Approvals Plan
  • Ensured that all assurance activities were delivered in a timely manner to support business decision-making and approvals
  • Engaged with senior colleagues, stakeholders, and Government on sensitive issues
  • Managed multiple activities simultaneously and prioritised critical tasks to agreed deadlines
