Clinical Lead

We are seeking an experienced and influential Clinical Lead to join our corporate team, providing strategic nursing leadership and expert specialist advice on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC). The successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy Director of Infection Prevention & Control and Executive Lead for IPC to develop high-quality evidence-based IPC policies and practices throughout the Trust.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead the IPC nursing and administrative team, ensuring the effective and efficient system for the prevention, investigation, and control of infections.
- Develop and maintain effective communication networks with internal and external colleagues and corresponding organisations.
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance, and safety initiatives.
- Undertake research, audit, and surveillance, and data analysis to inform IPC practices.
- Plan, lead, and implement successful change projects, and present and teach to a broad audience.
- Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register.
- Appropriate Degree.
- Mentor Preparation Programme or equivalent.
- Management/Leadership qualification or equivalent experience.
- Post-registration qualification in IPC.
- Masters level qualification or equivalent.
- Extensive post-registration experience in IPC.
- Significant time working in IPC with a highly specialised knowledge in a wide variety of clinical specialities.
- Demonstrate experience of leading and managing a team/department.
- Participation in quality improvement, clinical governance, and safety initiatives.
- Some experience of undertaking research, audit, and surveillance, and data analysis.
- Proven record of planning, leading, and implementing successful change projects.
- Significant experience in presenting and teaching to a broad audience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptable and responsive to service changes.
- Skilled in managing and influencing others to deliver IPC initiatives.
- Problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.
- Working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft office packages.
- Ability to plan and organise own workload and that of others.
