Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our residential care services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Statement of Purpose is in place and reflects the needs of young people in our care.
  • Develop effective communication strategies and systems to support staff in their duties.
  • Manage and develop quality direct services to young people, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Identify and meet staff training and development needs, assisting in training as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and regular inspections of the building.
  • Manage finance budgets, control, administration, and records in line with company expectations.
  • Promote and implement Equality and Diversity policies and Child Protection Procedures.
  • Set, monitor, and evaluate standards at individual, team, and service quality levels.
  • Establish and manage team communications systems, ensuring company procedures and policies are effectively communicated.
  • Ensure professional practice is carried out to the highest standards, developed in line with company objectives.
  • Provide vision and leadership to staff, ensuring effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management.
  • Manage a designated budget, ensuring value for money through monitoring and control of expenditure.
  • Supervise and appraise staff, following company procedures.
  • Ensure confidentiality and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of issues facing young people in care.
  • Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work well as part of a small team.
  • Ability to work at other residential homes as needed.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is advantageous.
