Job Title: Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Westmorland & Furness Council. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with learning disabilities to grow, learn, and develop in a safe and nurturing environment.

About the Role:
  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities, promoting their independence, social interactions, and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver a needs-led respite service, ensuring the welfare and needs of the young person are paramount.
  • Develop and improve independent living skills, social interactions, and confidence in a safe and homely environment.
  • Communicate effectively with young people, their families, and the team to ensure consistency of care and support.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervisions, and appraisals to reflect on practice and improve the care offered to young people.
