Occupational Therapist Position in Paediatrics

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to fill a fixed-term position covering maternity leave in our Children's Team. As part of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, you will be working closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality services.

Your primary focus will be on delivering assessments and interventions that empower children and young people to reach their full potential. You will collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to create tailored plans, promoting independence and functionality.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough assessments to inform intervention plans.
  2. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways.
  3. Design and deliver educational programs for parents, carers, and colleagues, enhancing their understanding of paediatric occupational therapy.
  4. Lead by example, supervising students and therapy assistants to foster their growth and development.
Essential Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of paediatric assessment and treatment strategies, including developmental and neurological impairment.
  • Adept at adapting to changing situations, prioritizing tasks efficiently.

Estimated Salary Range: £45,963 - £53,686 per annum, based on experience and location.
