About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated NHS Infant Feeding Specialist to join our team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the implementation of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the infant feeding team to plan, implement, maintain, and reaccredit BFI standards.
  • Provide expert direct clinical care and education to clinical and support staff on infant feeding best practices.
  • Conduct audits and action planning to monitor and measure the implementation of best practice standards.
  • Support women and their families, medical/surgical teams, and other agencies to ensure optimum care.
  • Fully adopt the work of the BFI across the hospital setting, aiming to achieve and maintain the BFI award.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of mothers and babies according to Trust policies and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Be familiar with NMC publications that may affect your role, responsibility, and accountability.
  • Attend Trust statutory and Mandatory training sessions as required and any other relevant training courses.

What We Offer

This role offers a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will be working in a dynamic and supportive environment with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
