Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer

Peacock Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer to join our research and development team.

Job Description

The role involves participation in all stages of the development process, from requirements capture through development, to onsite commissioning and testing.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Automation & Robotic Design Projects
  • Design and test control systems: PLC, Scada, Robotics
  • Produce specifications, plans, and cost analysis
  • Produce appropriate documentation for proposals and customer document packs
  • Actively develop the skills of other team members
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project cycle
Requirements
  • A higher education qualification in a relevant field and more than 3 years' experience in a related role in industry
  • Willingness to visit farms to develop dairy robot solutions
  • Expertise programming PLCs to an advanced level, producing high-quality, well-formatted programs
  • A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply this to practical problems
  • An understanding of electrical principles and DC circuits
  • Experience of producing high-quality, well-formatted programs
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Kuka robotic systems
  • Experience with Beckhoff and/or Omron PLCs
  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
