Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer

Peacock Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer to join our research and development team. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to improve food sustainability and animal welfare in the dairy industry.

We are looking for a professional with a passion for engineering, who can take ownership of robotic and automation projects from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and robotics, with experience in designing and developing control systems, PLC programming, and robotics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead automation and robotics design projects from concept to delivery
  • Design and develop control systems, including PLC, Scada, and robotics
  • Produce specifications, plans, and cost analysis for projects
  • Develop and maintain documentation for proposals and customer document packs
  • Collaborate with the team to develop skills and expertise
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
  • Higher education qualification in a relevant field and more than 3 years' experience in a related role
  • Willingness to travel and visit farms to develop dairy robot solutions
  • Expertise in programming PLCs to an advanced level, producing high-quality, well-formatted programs
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to apply it to practical problems
  • Understanding of electrical principles and DC circuits
  • Experience in producing high-quality, well-formatted programs
  • Hands-on experience in assembly and testing of automated solutions
  • Passport and driving license
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Kuka robotic systems
  • Experience with Beckhoff and/or Omron PLCs
  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
