Advanced Robotics Specialist

We are a leading technology firm, Peacock Technology, seeking an exceptional Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer to drive innovation in our research and development team. Based in Stirling, we aim to advance technological solutions for sustainable food production and animal welfare.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering, with experience in designing and implementing automation systems. A higher education qualification in a relevant field and more than 3 years' industry experience is required. Expertise in programming PLCs, electrical principles, and DC circuits is essential.
The role involves participating in all stages of the development process, from requirements capture to onsite commissioning and testing. As part of our commitment to advancing technological solutions, you will take ownership of robotic and automation projects. Your passion for engineering, professional approach to projects, and ability to find solutions to complex challenges will be invaluable assets to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead automation and robotics design projects
- Design and test control systems, including PLC, Scada, and robotics
- Produce specifications, plans, and cost analysis
- Develop skills of other team members
- Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project cycle
Requirements include willingness to visit farms to develop dairy robot solutions, expertise in ladder and structured text programming, hands-on experience with assembly and test of automated solutions, and a passport and driving license for occasional travel.
We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as excellent benefits, including 34 days holiday entitlement, private health and wellness scheme, and additional bonus scheme available. You will be expected to participate in video calls and face-to-face interviews at our office in Stirling.
