Senior Automation Engineer

Peacock Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation/Robotics Engineer to lead our research and development team.

We are committed to advancing technological solutions for food producers to improve long-term food sustainability and animal welfare. Our team includes experienced engineers with expertise in robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine vision.

The successful candidate will take ownership of robotic and automation projects, participating in all stages of the development process, from requirements capture to onsite commissioning and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead automation and robotic design projects
  • Design and test control systems: PLC, Scada, Robotics
  • Produce specifications, plans, and cost analysis
  • Develop the skills of other team members
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers throughout the project cycle

Requirements:

  • A higher education qualification in a relevant field and more than 3 years' experience in a related role in industry
  • Willingness to visit farms to develop dairy robot solutions
  • Expertise in programming PLCs to an advanced level
  • A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply it to practical problems
  • Experience of producing high-quality, well-formatted programs

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Kuka robotic systems
  • Experience with Beckhoff and/or Omron PLCs
  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
