Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a SENCo, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of our school's SEN policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate provision for children with SEND, ensuring that their needs are met and their progress is monitored.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and external agencies to support the needs of children with SEND.
  • Ensure that accurate records are maintained and that all statutory requirements are met in relation to SEN provision.
  • Support and train staff in identifying and meeting the needs of children with SEND.
  • Lead annual reviews and EHC plan processes, ensuring that children's needs are met and their progress is monitored.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision across the school.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or willingness to complete within 3 years of appointment
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring equal opportunities for all pupils

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar SENCo role
  • Additional qualifications related to SEN
