Special Needs Support Assistant

Role Overview:
As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the educational journey of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within an inclusive mainstream primary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing tailored support to a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that outlines specific targets and outcomes.
  • Collaborating closely with the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure the child’s needs are met effectively.
  • Engaging with various professionals, including speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and occupational therapists, to enhance the learning experience.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • A charismatic and empathetic nature, demonstrating a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism is highly regarded.
  • A strong desire to develop professionally within the Special Needs and Mental Health sector.

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The school is recognized for its supportive environment and has received a 'Good' rating from OFSTED.

Compensation:
The remuneration for this role ranges from £80 to £95 per day, reflecting the importance of the support provided to the child.
