About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) to lead and develop our inclusive SEND provision. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the SEND Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive SEND strategy that aligns with our school-wide goals, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
  • Manage SEND Provision: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our SEND provision, ensuring the best outcomes for pupils with SEND or disabilities.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support children with additional needs, ensuring a seamless and effective support system.
  • Monitor and Review: Regularly monitor and review the quality of our SEND provision, contributing to our school self-evaluation and informing strategic decisions.
  • Advise and Guide: Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on best practices for teaching students with SEND, ensuring our resources and funding are utilized effectively.
  • Lead Intervention Groups: Lead intervention groups and support teaching assistants in delivering effective support, ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience: Be qualified as a SENDCo or demonstrate a strong passion for working with children with additional needs and a willingness to undertake relevant qualifications.
  • Leadership Skills: Possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage SEND provision and inspire others to support our inclusive vision.
  • Communication Skills: Have excellent communication skills for liaising with external agencies, parents, and staff members.
