We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher to join our team at CV-Library. The successful candidate will have expertise in teaching students with autism, specifically in a primary setting.

Job Description

The role involves supporting students with special educational needs within our primary phase. You will be responsible for teaching a key stage 1 class of seven students aged 5-7, focusing on developing their communication, social interaction, physical, and independence skills, as well as early reading, writing, and maths.

Our students require a creative and playful yet structured approach to learning. Part of the role includes leading a team of teaching assistants to ensure a smooth classroom environment.

You will have access to specialist facilities such as therapy pools and sensory rooms, creating unique and inspiring environments for learning.

About You
  • Hold qualified teacher status and possess expertise in teaching students with autism.
  • Demonstrate clear communication and a fun, supportive nature.
  • Show willingness to use your initiative and lead a team of teaching assistants.
  • Be comfortable playing and getting messy, with energy levels to match the students' activities.
  • Calmly manage pressure situations while showing patience and understanding towards students' personal care needs.
  • Possess the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons to small groups of students.

As a member of our team, you will participate in our 12-week onboarding program, receiving training and development courses tailored to support each student's needs. Continuous professional growth opportunities include sign language training, becoming a training tutor, or pursuing NVQ qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a key stage 1 class of students with autism, emphasizing communication, social interaction, and life skills.
  • Lead a team of teaching assistants to maintain a smooth classroom atmosphere.
  • Leverage specialist facilities to create engaging learning environments.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet individual students' needs.

Please note that this role requires a salary range between £20,000 - £70,000 per annum, based on the UK teacher pay scales.
