Role Overview

GSL Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher with a specialism in Behaviour to join a dynamic school in Christchurch.

This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans for students with behavioural needs, assessing each student's unique requirements and setting specific learning goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group instruction tailored to students' needs, ensuring they receive the attention and support necessary to succeed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education and well-being.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in teaching or supporting students with behavioural needs is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Deep commitment to helping students with SEN, exhibiting patience and empathy in interactions.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £53,275 per annum (MPS/UPS). Additional benefits include a supportive work environment, opportunities for professional development, and a chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives.
