Job RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of no more than five pupils.
You will work closely with the Classroom Teacher to support lesson delivery, report on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaise with other School staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than five pupils
- Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons
- Report on pupils' progress and concerns
- Liaise with other School staff to ensure pupils' needs are met
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom time
- Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation
- Set work and mark where appropriate
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant
- Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
- Experience of behaviour management and techniques
- Committed to professional development and willing to learn
