Teaching Assistant for SEN Students

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a leading SEN school in Sittingbourne, Kent. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and helping students develop essential life skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse needs, including those with profound, severe, and complex needs, as well as medical and learning requirements.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, promoting student engagement and participation.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social skills, emotional well-being, and academic achievement.
  • Help students develop essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and independence, alongside their education.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an academic setting or personal capacity.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with the ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs are a plus, but not essential.
  • A driving license is preferred, but not required.
