About the Role

This position plays a critical role in the Child Protective Services (CPS) program, supporting the department's mission to protect vulnerable populations. The successful candidate will oversee a caseload, orient new staff, and provide supervision, placement coordination, and data compliance. This leader will also contribute to policy development, evaluate service effectiveness, and apply knowledge of Virginia policies in children's services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management to a small caseload
  • Orient new staff and supervise the team in the absence of the supervisor
  • Coordinate placements and ensure data compliance
  • Contribute to policy development and evaluation of service effectiveness
  • Apply knowledge of Virginia policies in children's services
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or human services field
  • Two years of experience in human services required
  • Master's degree in social work preferred
  • Three years of experience in Child Protective Services desired
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
