Clinical Psychologist Opportunity in Paediatric Endocrinology

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary Children's Endocrinology, Diabetes and DSD Service at the Nottingham Children's Hospital (QMC). As a psychologist in this role, you will provide specialist clinical psychology services for children and young people to help them manage psychological distress and achieve better treatment outcomes.

This is a part-time position, with the successful applicant working 22.5 hours per week. The role involves working with children and young people through consultation, direct work, and attending multidisciplinary clinics. You will be based predominantly at the Children's Hospital QMC campus and will be part of a welcoming and growing Clinical Psychology Department.

Main Responsibilities

The main duties of the role include:

  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary Children's Endocrinology, Diabetes and DSD Teams
  • Providing specialist clinical psychology services for children and young people
  • Attending multidisciplinary clinics and working with children and young people through consultation and direct work
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Completed a postgraduate doctoral level DClinPsy in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS
  • Current HCPC registration for Clinical Psychologist (or eligibility to qualify for registration)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
  • Previous training in medical psychology
  • Training in the supervision of other psychological professionals
Desirable Skills

The following skills are desirable for this role:

  • Experience of teaching, training, and/or professional and clinical supervision
  • Experience of working with people with medical/chronic physical health conditions
  • Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
Working Arrangements

This role requires the ability to work on days to suit the service and to be up to date with immunisations, including TB and HepB.
