About the Job

We are recruiting for an experienced Children's Wellbeing Specialist to join our Mental Health Support Team (MHST). As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will work in both education and healthcare settings to support children and young people with mental ill health.

This role is part of the CYP IAPT programme, which aims to improve existing children and young people's mental health services working in the community.

You will be responsible for delivering low-intensity evidenced-based interventions under supervision to children and young people, as well as devising and delivering group-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering low-intensity evidenced-based interventions under supervision to children and young people.
  • Developing and delivering psychoeducation sessions to children, young people, parents/carers.
  • Ensuring children/young people play an active part in decision making about the support they need.
  • Providing advice/consultation to education staff to support children/young people getting the right help at the right time.

Requirements

  • HEE PG Diploma in Education Mental Health Practice for children & young people or PG Diploma in Psychological Wellbeing Practice for children and young people.
  • At least one year's experience of delivery of low-intensity evidenced-based CBT interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues.
  • At least one year's experience of work within both health and educational settings.
