Family Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Services Specialist to join our team at the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services. This is a critical role that requires a strong commitment to the safety and well-being of children and families.
Job Summary:The Family Services Specialist will be responsible for conducting home visits to assess the safety of children and monitor compliance with staff recommendations. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct home visits to assess the safety of children and monitor compliance with staff recommendations
- Engage and empower families to make positive changes
- Work with staff to investigate allegations of child abuse and neglect
- Provide support and resources to families to help them meet their needs
- Collaborate with community agencies and organizations to provide comprehensive services to families
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field
- One year of experience in social work or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
